Corporate Profile

Classic Transport, Inc. began in 1993 when founder Bill Garvey recognized his opportunities and the potential to succeed. He knew how to surround himself with competent people and how to trust them to do their jobs. A transport business that began with 30 drivers and a staff of seasoned professionals with proven track records grew to over 30 employees and 800 owner/operators in a relatively short span of time. Today, Classic Transport commands one of the largest owner/operator fleets in northern Indiana and southern Michigan. In addition to RVs, they are a major participant in the transport of motorhomes and utility trucks. Their clients span the United States and Canada.

Classic Transport’s success is credited to Garvey’s “can-do” attitude of never being afraid to take on new challenges or risks while maintaining persistent focus. He is extremely focused on the niche business, on customer service and on maintaining a close locale to clientele. Garvey and Classic Transport’s resolve pays off as the company experiences tremendous growth. They continue to face yearly record-breaking sales. In addition to headquarters in Elkhart, Ind., Classic Transport has facilities in Goshen, Ind., and Middlebury, Ind. They are fully insured and received a satisfactory rating by DOT. Each year, Classic Transport conducts an annual Forward-Planning Meeting and keeps a five-year-plan up to date at all times.

Garvey received the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® award in 2002.
