1
- What are the requirements?
- Minimum of 23 years of age.

No more than two moving violations in the past two years.
-
No more than two accidents in the past three years, regardless of fault.

Must pass DOT physical and drug screening test with exam less than 6 months from lease date (at your expense).
Must provide long form and medical certificate at orientation. Current DOT physical must have exam date 1 year from application date.

Must pass road test

Must possess at least a Class C license (pickup truck and driveaway divisions).
- Must have valid passport. Classic Transport recruiters are available to help obtain a passport. Drivers are now required to have valid passports because of new border laws going into effect in 2008.

2 - What equipment do I need?
Pickup Division – ¾ or 1 ton trucks (dually preferred). 2000 or newer preferred (Will consider older if well maintained).
- Fifth wheel not less than 15k.
- Hitch/Receiver not less than a Class IV hitch, which must be adjustable (vertical)
and be complete with 1,000# stabilizer and equalizer bars. Required ball sizes are
2 5/16”.
- Mirrors are to be capable of towing 102” wide trailers.
- Mud flaps are required and must cover both tires completely. While under load, mud
flaps should have no more than 4” of ground clearance.
- Tailgates must be replaced with a permanent mount fixture.
- Optional accessory fuel tanks and/or tool boxes must be DOT installed and cannot
extend above bed rails.
- Trailer brake control installed
- 12-Volt battery required.
- Truck must pass Federal DOT inspection and be in good appearance.

1-6 ft safety chain with hooks on each
end
Flares / triangles
Tire gauge
Lug wrench/ jack
Spare fuses
Basic small hand tools

Driveaway Division – Towing a car
behind your unit is optional; you can take a bus, train or airplane back to
dispatch. If you want to tow a car we must approve of your towing package and
your tow vehicle size can be up to a maximum of an intermediate size-car or
compact pickup. Classic will sell to you the required hitch to go on the bumper of
the vehicle you are transporting. We do not sell any of the equipment that goes on your tow car.
50% of our drivers purchase a bus pass from Greyhound; the other 50% tow a car.

4 - How many hours will I work?
You may work as many hours as you want as long as you stay within DOT guidelines. Please contact our personnel department for more information.

5 - When do I get started with the application process?
